Renova Energia is a company which performs in the generation of electricity through alternative renewable sources, such as small hydroelectric power plants (SHPs) and wind energy.
Created in 2001, the Company is one solid reference in the clean energy sector. It already has three SHPs in operation – the Serra da Prata Hydroelectric Complex, in the state of Bahia, which sums up 41.8 MW – and 20 wind farms in the states of Bahia totaling 423 MW under implementation – and has a great portfolio of alternative renewable sources distributed in the states of Bahia, Minas Gerais, Mato Grosso, Maranhão, Goiás, Tocantins and Paraná.
Renova Energia has a differentiated approach to the alternative energy sector, strategically integrating the activities of prospection and development of projects to its business model. It also privileges the scale and geographic concentration in the conception of its projetcs, which guarantees obtaining quite important synergies in the construction and asset operation phases.
It was one of the first companies to believe in this market and one of the first authorized to produce electric energy from alternative sources in Brazil. In its eight years of performance, Renova invested in the creation of a solid development team formed by highly qualified engineers, geologists, environment technicians and legislations experts. They are professionals with over 20 years of experience in the electricity sector, coming from environmental institutions, electricity energy and engineering companies.
Among Renova partners there is Fundo InfraBrasil, a fund independently managed by ABN AMRO Real Bank, and two young entrepreneurs, experts in the alternative energy sector and the company’s founders (Ricardo Delneri and Renato Amaral).
